수비학(數秘學·numerology)이라는 것이 있다. 특정 숫자·배열에 신성한 의미를 부여하며(ascribe divine meaning to certain digits or sequences) 사람·장소·사건 등의 기묘한 연관성(weird connection)을 연구하는 학문이다. 말이 학문이지, 실제로는 숫자 풀이 점술(占術·fortune-telling)에 가까워 미신으로 치부된다(be deemed as superstition).
